Air Technician (Weapons)

Royal Air Force

As an Air Technician Weapons, you will be in charge of maintaining and managing weapons and explosives, making sure they’re ready at a moments notice. These include aircraft bombs, smart weapons, missiles, ammunition and individual weapons.

Handle extremely dangerous equipment
Arm aircraft with bombs, guided weapons, missiles
Take responsibility for the servicing, maintenance and repair of ejection seats, aircraft gun systems and missile launchers
Maintain, care and issue the weapons used by your station
Building and fitting smart weapons and decoy flares to the aircraft

Minimum Education Requirements

GCSE grade C/4 or Scottish National 5 grade C in English language, Mathematics and an approved Science/Technology-based subject.

Requirements

Be aged 16 – 47 years old (Must attest before 48th birthday)

Commit to minimum 3 years post specialist training

Photographer

Royal Air Force

As an RAF Photographer, you will play a varied range of roles, capturing everything from aerial reconnaissance images to public relations portraits.

Physical Training Instructor

Royal Air Force

As an RAF Physical Training Instructor, you will lead fitness and training programs that keep RAF personnel in top shape.

RAF Medic

Royal Air Force

As an RAF Medic, you will provide essential medical support to personnel, responding to medical emergencies and providing airfield crash cover on stations in the UK, whilst on operations and also on exercises. RAF Medics can also train as paramedics, providing a full range of pre-hospital emergency care in military environments.

Air Technician Survival Equipment

Survival Equipment Specialists maintain systems designed to save and preserve life; in flight, during emergencies, and in survival situations. This role is key in supporting aircrew and the operation of aircraft.

RAF Police

Royal Air Force

As a member of the RAF Police, you will conduct criminal and security investigations. As specialists in Aviation Security, Counter Intelligence, Protective Security, Law Enforcement, Military Working Dogs, Information and Cyber Security, the RAF Police plays a critical role enabling airpower operations globally.

Communication Infrastructure Technician

Royal Air Force

As a Communications Infrastructure Technician you will provide communication for the RAF’s digital infrastructure ecosystem by installing and maintaining essential fibre optic and data communication cables, radome structures and antenna masts working at height or in secure operation rooms.

Firefighter

Royal Air Force

As an RAF Firefighter you will provide 24/7 fire and crash rescue protection. You will be organised and trained to respond to any emergency with highly specialised equipment like powerful cutting tools.

Mover

Royal Air Force

As a RAF Mover, you will be responsible for planning and executing the movement of RAF personnel and equipment by road, rail, air and sea.

Driver

Royal Air Force

As a RAF Driver, you will operate many vehicle types, from cars and minibuses to cranes, articulated trucks, coaches and specialist vehicles (such as aircraft refuellers) to ensure RAF personnel, equipment and commodities are in the right place at the right time.
